Hey there I have started poly modelling again to start on our characters for the games we are making for University. I am crap at drawing or coming up with characters on the spot. I decided to use the material the tutor had, this meant I didn’t loose a lesson to drawing an headaches.

this is the drawing I used because this is what the tutor was using at the time.
I started with the Eye socket to start building out from there. I did that wrong 3 times before I sorted it out. anyway I didn’t take photos of the start I don’t think. but I do have some steps where I was working on the mouth

this is what I built from the tutorial. but I wanted to improve it a little
I had created a terrifying thing that needed to be changed but i am learning how to build a character with poly modelling.

This was truely a horror to build.

I had added a chin area but it wasn’t great.
I speical duplated the face that I had built and this monster was the result

Although terrible looking this experience helped me get back to grips with building in a poly forming structure and back into the workflow pipeline which I am grateful about.
My friend mentioned that it had teeth and yeah looks like that really but it doesn’t have teeth yet.

finally without the smooth tool that is 3 key.
This is what the asset would look like smoothed although its not at the level of polish to be able to do that its more than likely what is is going to look like.

if you look at the nose and lips they are more defined with wider lips and more of a square nose are helping the charge the shape of the face the issues that i have had with this model are the details around the check bones which have been an issue for today. I am 98% confident that there isnt an illegal face there are not any tris or polygons.

I cant wait to adapt the template and find other mediaeval that I can use to build other things and characters. I truly miss using Maya.
